Throughout 2024, we had many opportunities to elevate Pepper's people, projects and promises.

We build more than buildings. Our projects elevate the communities we serve. From enhancing experiences to advancing scientific endeavors, our work touches many lives in countless ways. Along the way - our commitment to healthy materials and high-performance strategies improves quality of life for all.

2024 was a year of contrasts. The diversity of the types of projects we build proved to be our strength. Science and technology sectors exploded, with cutting-edge facilities being built across the Midwest. Industrial and manufacturing projects continue to come online. Healthcare saw a welcome resurgence, while K-12 referendums continue to drive high activity. Despite the positives, inflation continued to put pressure on material costs while interest rates slowed development activity. Through it all, we adapted.

Growth defined our year. We planted a flag in Madison with a new office. Ohio and Indiana operations saw record revenues. Our equipment and supply company, Pepper 365, opened doors on a new warehouse and showroom in Des Plaines, Illinois. Pepper Energy continued to generate new opportunities, installing rooftop solar arrays and expanding community solar farms. We're not just growing—we're evolving.

Our people remain our greatest asset. Indiana teams hosted their annual Quality Concept of the Year competition. Ohio team members brought our core values to life by sharing real-life stories with one another. Across locations, we brought everyone to the table during Construction Inclusion Week. We're building more than projects—we're building a culture.

Each year, Pepper hosts a week of interactive events to create a greater sense of belonging from the jobsite to the office.

Technology continues reshaping our industry. We explored new ways technology can boost communication and tested site productivity tools to streamline workflows. Cybersecurity took center stage, with enhanced due diligence protecting our digital assets. Among our construction peers, we're not just keeping pace—we're setting it.

Sustainability and high performance construction aren't just goals for Pepper —they are our standard. Our impact metrics tell a story of positive change in quality of life through the built world. We are walking the talk by showcasing this commitment at our  facilities. In Cincinnati and Chicago, our offices actively leverage a digital twin to monitor and visually display each building’s operational impact and efficiency.

Awards validated our hard work. Among many other awards, the Cincinnati Preservation Association added to the laurels earned by our restoration of our Net Zero office in the suburb of Lockland, Ohio which also earned LEED Gold and is pursuing WELL Gold certifications. Our Indiana team was named "Top Notch Contractor of the Year." We clinched the Chicago Commercial Real Estate "General Contractor of the Year" award and the Chicago Building Congress tapped both Advocate Christ Medical Center Adult Emergency Department Expansion and the Rivers Casino North Expansion as Merit Award winners.

Looking ahead, we see both challenges and opportunities. The coming year is expected to build momentum as the months progress. While an element of uncertainty remains, exciting projects are on the horizon. The Women's Leadership Center in Wisconsin will elevate the potential for women to extend their impact on communities throughout the nation and around the world. Columbus Zoo renovations will boost preservation and stewardship initiatives. Ascension Health projects will raise the bar for patient care, and the ongoing Shedd Aquarium renovation will reframe the visitor experience for generations to come.

Our mission goes beyond the bottom line. Every project we undertake aims to prioritize the health and well-being in the regions we call home. From sustainable design to community partnerships, we're building a better tomorrow. Thank you for your continued trust and partnership.

Here's to another year of raising the bar and continuing to elevate our efforts, one project at a time.
