This 37,000-square-foot expansion and renovation will feature a new restaurant and bar, 100 slot machines, 25 gaming tables and a new entry. A phased approach is underway, allowing the casino to remain operational during construction. Stringent security, safety and disruption avoidance measures are in place, including temp walls that were built before demo and leap frogging work such as the carpet replacement. An additional power supply and transformer are needed to run the upgraded air handling units and mission critical components, such as the raised floor that brings uninterrupted power to each gaming table.
Our virtual, preconstruction and quality teams offered key insights during the planning phase of the project. Since the project is adjacent to a hill, our unique Underground Utility Damage Prevention process (UUDP) helped us work through elevation changes. Through laser scanning, we identified an area where the expansion meets the original building and required an additional steel splice plate to structurally support the new entry.
