Great Parks of Hamilton County - Shaker Trace Nursery Improvements

Shaker Trace Nursery is a 16-acre project that includes a complete multi-building renovation. Owned by Great Parks of Hamilton County, an organization dedicated to preserving and protecting natural resources and providing outdoor recreation and education for 22 parks in the greater Cincinnati area, the nursery harvests, processes and stores native prairie and wetland seeds for habitat restoration projects. The full scope of this renovation includes a seed-drying barn, greenhouse, equipment barn and event barn. Great Parks is also prioritizing conservation by preserving a bat habitat in a historic barn and will be installing solar panels and incorporating geothermal energy. The project will be seeking LEED Gold, SITES Gold and NetZero certifications.
