Precision modeling on tight timeframes produced the concrete structure for this stunner in the West Loop.

As one of the first contractors to integrate BIM and Virtual Design into the preconstruction and estimating process for concrete, we were able to deliver the West Loop’s tallest building in record time.

During the bidding process, we digitally modeled the 46-story residential tower to provide ultra-accurate estimates and concrete quantities. When the contract was awarded, we immediately transferred the model to the general contractor, so they could get a head start on MEP coordination.

As construction progressed, our onsite teams kept the model updated and used it to accurately order and track quantities for deliveries. On one pour, the accurate model quantities saved two truckloads of concrete from the original hand takeoff. The result: an elliptical-shaped, 492-unit luxury rental tower that also includes more than 10,000 square feet for retail.
