At Pepper, we’ve built a table big enough to welcome everyone. As we look forward to celebrating Thanksgiving with our colleagues and our families this month, we are grateful for everyone who chooses to be part of our Pepper family. While each person's or family's story is unique, and we'd love to tell them all, here are just a few examples.
The Baldocchi Family
As a company now in its fourth generation of family leadership, values related to "family life" have always been a natural part of Pepper's culture. That may be part of what has drawn other families - those not genetically related to the Peppers - have also chosen to make the company their home and colleagues their work family. Parents, children, siblings and cousins can be found throughout the organization, including the Baldocchi family. Based in Illinois, they have been part of Pepper since Warren Baldocchi joined the company as a foreman in 1963. The tenure of current Baldocchi employees exceeds 41 years. Watch the video below to learn more about what drew them to, and keeps them at, Pepper Construction.
In addition to the Baldocchi family, here is a partial list of others who have brought relations or generations into the Pepper fold. Again, we’re grateful to have them with us and thankful for the role that each family has played in building one big #PepperFamily.
Spotlight on Paul Francois
President, Pepper Construction Company of Ohio
With more than three decades of experience in the construction industry, Paul Francois' career with Pepper has taken him from an intern to President of our Ohio company. Throughout the years, his Pepper family has been there to support Paul through many accomplishments and challenges, including his establishment and leadership of one of Pepper's fastest growing companies, as well as personal loss. Under Paul's direction, the Ohio team has participated in numerous volunteer and fund-raising events for organizations such as Junior Achievement of Central Ohio, the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, the Pancreatic Cancer Network (PanCan) and the Little Miami River Clean-up. Developing a diverse partner network
While we are always excited to grow our Pepper Family by adding and retaining talent within the company, lending partner organizations a helping hand is another important aspect of growth and development that comes from collaboration within the “extended family.” Our team in Indiana is particularly active in mentoring and promoting small, diverse businesses through an annual outreach event that continues to grow year over year and consistently receive positive reviews. The next event will take place in March 2025. Indiana employees also spent more than 535 hours volunteering to maintain a long-standing tradition that is supported from the highest levels of Pepper’s local leadership.
