After completing the original renovation of the Carbide & Carbon Building into Chicago's Hard Rock Hotel in 2003, Pepper was brought back in late 2017 to reposition the space as the St. Jane Chicago. The new hotel includes 363 upgraded rooms. There are 33 residence suites with high-end finishes on floors 25-36 and 330 guest rooms on floors 3 through 23. The lower levels were also renovated – including the lobby, restaurant, kitchen, ballrooms and meeting rooms.
The interior of the building was redesigned by Simeone Deary Design Group, an award-winning interior design firm with a distinct artistic perspective, along with Booth Hanson as the architect of record. The Hard Rock memorabilia shop was replaced with a grab-and-go coffee shop and restaurant that opens into a seating area in the lobby, and Free Rein, a new restaurant that has taken the place of the one previously located at street level. The new space also features an indoor / outdoor rooftop bar and lounge. Check out what we learned on https://www.freereinrestaurant.com/
